Look what I got for my birthday last month. For the past few weeks, I have been teaching myself how to use it, and teaching myself how to not burn myself.
I am happy to report success! So far...
Here are a few things I've made.
This first one is the very latest thing I made, for my big sis Sue.
Shhh, don't tell her, She hasn't gotten it yet and has no idea. She is an amazing artist. To hear all about her and see more of her work just click here:

I used a print of her color pencil artwork of a light house and ship,
and added and S for SUSIE. And below is the first thing I made. Its awful right? I surly did not know what I was doing. But it has become addicting.

And here are a few bracelets I made once I got better at it. They are a bit like those vintage watch bracelets I made a while back.

Well, I have Angels to get back to next week. This is one I am working on, she is itty-bitty indeed...

Easter Blessings...

I hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend. The sun is shinning here in Virginia, with just a hint of a chill in the air.
Spring cleaning and time spent in the yard is what I'm looking forward to these days. I just can't wait to get my hand is the dirt again.
I know I need to get to sewing, and I am.
And soon I will have new things to share.
I just want to wish everyone a Happy Easter and a bright and sunny Springtime.

We have a Winner...
Awe! Only 11 entries? My goodness, maybe I'll have to make my next give-away a bit more interesting. But really, what is more interesting than dolls.
Let me tell you about the idea for this give-away. I had been antiquing, and came across this great book on the history of dolls. Oh, was it a great find for me. I love it. So I was out again weeks later antiquing "again" and there it is again, another book just the same as the one I got for myself. And I just thought, what a great prize for a Dollie give-away. So here is just peek inside the book featured in this giveaway.

With so few entries, it makes it easy to send everyone who entered just a little something, ah.
OK, on to the drawing.
I had my dear husband pick a name this time.

And the winner is...MICA!
So Mica, just e-mail me your address and your prize will be on it's way dear. Congratulations, I think your gonna love your prizes.
And thanks to all the doll lovers out there.

Birthday Give-Away...

Yes, that's right, this is me on the day I was born.

It was 41 years ago, February 6th. I have been wanting to have this give-away all month. But I have had so much going on ( I won't go into that), I just have not had the time or energy to work it all out, but here it is. I'm back to blog land and what better way to return than with a give-away.

The theme is what else, Dolls. I have not even been sewing much and I am getting ready to jump back into that too. So I have some special finds that I've picked up at antique shops along the way, I thought would be great for this give-away. I do love dollies so, I have a great collection of dollies, and dresses, and books about dollies. So I want to share. So if you love dolls as I do, just leave a comment on this post and your are in the drawing.
I will draw one name on March 8th.

And here is a peak at the prize.

And I thought this would be a good time to share some pictures of my collections, Enjoy!

(Below) I just found this treasure last week at a little antique shop in Roanoke VA. Its a doll bed that folds up, how sweet is that.

I also want to share some of my favorite Dollie blogs.

Mica: Garb-oodles

"There is no time like the old time,
when you and I were young!"
Oliver Wendell Holmes
A flu bug, a long trip, and the passing of a love one is keeping me for the moment.
I long to get back to my sewing and catching up with all my sweet friends in blogville.
Untill then,
Smiles always,
