A Little Project...

I've been working on and I thought I'd share it for White Wednesday.
I had been looking for a dress form for a while now.
One I felt I could revamp, didn't cost much and wasn't in great shape.
My intentions were to do this...
This one was fabric covered
and not in great shape.
So first I coated it with Gesso all over.
 View of the pack...
Then I began to cover it using these
Early News Paper style shop bags
and Mod Podge.
You would think it would not
take long to cover wouldn't you...NOT!
It took me a total of
7 hours over 3 days to get-er-done...
Just the way I wanted.
I was so excited
I had only two pieces left
till I remembered,
I had to do the back too...
 Ahhh... Front complete.
 And onward I went
to finish the back...
 All done...
I also had to do a bit of work
on the stand too.
But my itch to do one of these is now scratched.

Finished Front...
Finished Back...

Fun Project in the end.
(Except for the gooey-gluey fingers)
By the time I was done I wanted to keep it for myself.

I'm in the hunt for one too! My Daughter got into sewing and I would like to surprise her with one. They can be tricky to find specially at a good price, I'm glad you found one and that it looks so great!!

I worked on one over the summer myself. I bought a form at a thrift store, and started tearing vintage books into small pieces. It took forever! I have it in my dining room up on a china cupboard. I feel like it isn't quite complete though, even though I have HOURS invested in it as it is. Yours is very sweet! Beautiful job, Marcia

you did a good job. I really like it. I want to cover one with twall material plus a few rhinestones.

Becky - fabulous job on the re-do! Amazing what a bit (in your case, alot) of decoupaging will do... I'm sure you were proud and smiling when you finished! :) mercedes

Hi Becky,

Great job on the dress form. I'd love to find another one and add the chandelier to it...Look in my sidebar near the top at mine.

I'm visiting for White Wednesday. I'd love to have you come over for a visit.

Have a wonderful day,
Stephanie ♥

Looks great! But I know it takes forever, I did one a while back and it took me forever! Haven't done one since! LOL!

I love decopaging things and dressforms. I did one also for my booth. They always get my attention! Know that was hard work. Good job! ~judy~
