I want to share some pictures. And a very interesting Neighbor of mine, from a very Popular Forest...
less then a mile are beautiful farms I love to drive by every time I go out.
Every trip to the post office, I see these guys.
And my most interesting Neighbor...
Mr. Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest Platation.
This is the front of the house...
The Plantation...
The back...
This brick wall surrounds the Rose garden. No Roses yet.
These trees in front of the house are over 250 years old.
A 4,819-acre plantation given to Thomas Jefferson and his wife Martha in 1773 by his Father-in-law.
And it is right here located in my neighborhood.
It was to be his retreat.
Thomas Jefferson hoped to spend more time here to pursue his passions of reading, writing, and gardening. However, that did not work out for him as he wished.
He and his family did spend two months here in 1781 when he had to hide out to elude British capture.
This is the road heading to the plantation.
Have a great weekend.
